Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Isaiah 40:28-29

- Galatians 2:19-21

31st August
For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me.
So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.

So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless.
For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

- John 15:4-5

30th August
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches.
Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.
For apart from me you can do nothing."

Meryl's Story

I was raised as Church of England and Mum took my sister and me to church every Sunday. When I was about 15 or 16 I started growing away from church and eventually stopped going.

I met Greg (my future husband) when I was 17. I have always been a very shy, dependant person which was probably one of the reasons I was attracted to him because he was very dominant. I was happy to let him tell me what to do and have him make all the decisions.

- Luke 23:39-43

One of the criminals hanging [On the cross] beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself and us, too, while you’re at it!”

But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?

Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you.

But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

- Jeremiah 17:14

Feelings of hurt, anger, resentment and emptiness surfaced, and so began my search to finding fulfilment / happiness.

- Romans 5:15-16

26th August
But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift.
For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many.

But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.

And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin.

For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.

- 2 Peter 1:3-4

25th August
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises.
These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

- Luke 12:22-23

24th August
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.
Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing."

How great is a problem?

Just had a thought...

Let’s say you get a headache and pray for healing for this headache to go away. Now would you say that is a small miracle to ask God for? After all, it is just a headache.

Now, let’s say you find out you have an inoperable brain tumour. Now that is pretty full on, Right?
You have just been given a death sentence.

Would you say that praying for healing for this tumour would need a BIGGER miracle than the miracle of the headache?

Emma's Story *Names have been changed on request.

As a child, the stereotype I had of church involved a bunch of old people congregating together and singing boring hymns with a minister wearing strange robes. I grew up in an Anglican church and hated it!!!

I would use every excuse known to man to try and get out of it, but my Mum being the strong women she was made me go.
My Dad was not a Christian and it really annoyed me that he didn't have to go.

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin.
Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life.

So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law.

Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

- Matthew 9:16-17

No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price.
So you must honour God with your body.

- 2 Corinthians 4:15-16

12th August
For all things are for your sake, so that the superabounding grace might be made to abound through the thanksgiving of the greater number, to the glory of God.

And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ.
Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an Antichrist. Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either.
But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

This is a trustworthy saying:

If we die with him, we will also live with him.
If we endure hardship, we will reign with him.
If we deny him, he will deny us.
If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.

Sabine's Story

My name is Sabine, I am 23 years old now, I am from a beautiful country called Lebanon.

I grew up in a "Christian" family, who believes in Jesus Christ and the Gospel, but follows the rituals of the catholic church.
During my childhood, I attended regularly a Catholic church, but I never saw God as my Father or friend. God was for me someone very far, and I used to pray just because I have learned that I should pray.

Dave's Story *Names have been changed on request.

Saved from suicide.

I was born and raised on a farm. Although it may sound impossible, I grew up without any knowledge of church, GOD, or JESUS.

As far as I knew, church was where you went to get married and the only time I heard of GOD or JESUS was in swearing.

Steve's Story *Names have been changed on request.

This is the true story of how Steve was saved from drug overdose and heroin addiction.

My name is Steve and Jesus Christ has done wonderful things in my life!

Before knowing Christ, I was miserable, confused and lost in the direction I was going in my life.
I felt like I did not have a purpose or a real drive to do anything. So I just did whatever I wanted to do, disregarding the consequences that I was about to face.

My Story

I was born in Sydney, Australia. The 1st son of 3 for my parents. When I was 7 we moved further up the East coast and settled in a town around 4 hours drive North of Sydney.

While living there, my parents became friends with a couple with a large family who were very peaceful natured and called themselves "Christians". I had never even heard of the term before.

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.

When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples.
He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

- John 16:8-11

And when He [the Holy Spirit] has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement:

Of sin, because they [unbelievers] do not believe in Me;

Of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

Of judgement, because the ruler of this world is judged.

- John 5:21-23

For just as the Father gives life to those he raises from the dead, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants.
In addition, the Father judges no one.
Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, so that everyone will honour the Son, just as they honour the Father.
Anyone who does not honour the Son is certainly not honouring the Father who sent him.
